I remember this place being good. I haven’t had in a while. Decided to stop and grab it for a late dinner on the way home while passing through. Ordered 2 large pizzas to bring to a hungry house hold. Got home to East haven to find a hair in one of the pizzas. I called and the lady offered to make another if I brought this one back. But I wasn’t about to get in the car drive all the way back there from East haven. It’s great that you offered to make another pizza, but EXTREMELY inconvenient. Not only was it 43 dollars. I then had to order another pizza from somewhere else. Everyone ate separately rather then a family because I had to wait for the other place to make and deliver. So I had to shell out more money all due to them not being more careful. Not a single person who I watched handle my pizza was wearing a hair net.

This should be the highest rated pizza in the area. There is a reason they’ve been in business for 84 years and still have raving fans like me. The crust is PERFECT - not too thin, not too full, it’s just right!! I also recommend any pizza with sausage on it. They make their own from good meat not ends. It’s sweet and delicious! I had the sausage, onion and pepper and it was fantastic!! It’s not a fancy place. It’s small but comfortable and family run by nice people. Go here and you will Enjoy!

In my humble opinion Zuppardi's is the best New Haven area pizzeria. Although others get all the praise and glory Zuppardi's needs a closer look. They make a great fresh clam pizza, my favorite. If you follow my recommendations and comments and have not visited Zuppardi's, go take a shot, what do you have to lose !

I have found the Holy Grail of pizza. There is a lot of great pizza in the New Haven area, but the Fresh Clam pie at Zuppardi's is arguably the best I've ever eaten. One bite and both my daughter and I were hooked. Fresh clams, outstanding crust. Spectacular! Our attentive and knowledgeable waitress let us know the next time we come back, we should try the fresh sausage pie. Can't wait!

Fantastic pizza place that just oozes old school pizza style. Not nearly as crowded as some of the other big pizza names around this area. The staff was super fast and friendly. We got a small escarole and white bean with hot peppers. And a special made of mushroom and sausage. Both of the pies were excellent.

One of the great pizzarias in town. Definitely worth a pop in for some pizza and a cold one!

Excellent. If you’re a pizza connoisseur this is a must check out. The crust crunch is unique versus other New Haven style pizzas. Cheese was outrageously good. Very accommodating when I ordered a second pie with no cheese. Veggie toppings were fresh and well done, no soggyness with 4 types of veggies which can only be pulled off by masters of the art.Staff was very friendly. The curb side pickup was well organized and I felt safe. I was annoyed I couldn’t prepay with a credit card so I ended up just paying cash so I didn’t have to deal with the credit card in the car situation.Next time I’m going to order the focaccia bread also as I noticed that in the menu.

The most underrated and misunderstood of the New Haven Pizza. It's only a few miles from Wooster Street and doesn't have a coal feed oven, but so what. These people have been making stellar pizza with top flight ingredients for decades! Make your way into the city of West Haven and treat yourself. The menu by the way has more than only pizza plus you can buy ready to ship frozen pies! Manga!

Ordered the medium (14 inch) clam pizza at the market price of $32. Very delicious and worth it, though I bit into a few clam shell bits and would have preferred a more crispy crust. Still 5 stars. We arrived right at opening and were served promptly. Very friendly service. By the time we left the place was about half full. My brother got the veggie pizza which he said was the best he’s ever had mostly due to the complete lack of sogginess that dooms pies with a lot of veggies.

Love the fact that it's still a family owned/run business. Awesome customer service, fast delivery of food, always pleasant and polite employees. Parking can get a bit tight & the takeout area congested but it works. The food is the best & prices are still reasonable for the generous portions! The frozen food refrigerator's are great for at home cooking on a rainy day when you're too tired to get dressed.

Summary: Although it may be less famous than other New Haven counterparts, Zuppardi's serves outstanding pizza that is better than most of its rivals. The crust is cooked masterfully with a crunchy and slightly more chewy texture. The crust also isn't burnt, an issue plaguing many other New Haven style pizza joints. All toppings are fresh and excellent but the Special (Homemade fennel sausage and mushrooms) is truly superb.Must Try: The Special and Clam pizza. Also recommended: Buffalo chicken pizza.Avoid: N/A⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Outstanding, worth a special excursion

Zuppardi's has been the center of pizza in West Haven for 85 years. Crust is awesome, slightly chared, thin crunchy and always made fresh every day. Sauce cheese, homemade sausage, and mushroom still make up a Zappardi special. There antipasto is always a treat, enough for four. Foxon Park soda still served for those of us who grew up with it. If you haven't been, treat yourself to some of the best Pizza you'll ever eat.

Questions & Answers

Yes

Yes, they do ship. And they lots of varieties too

I think I saw GF crust advertised but I agree with the person above who says they most likely won't have a dedicated GF oven.

Just picked 4 up

Really depends on the time. They do have a large back space in addition to the dining room

No sit down or takeout

Zuppardi's hands down.

Perfect thank you guys! I will do that, and check it before it's done so maybe remove the cover for the last 15 minutes or so to let the top brown.
